Horses
Unfortunately, because of current economic conditions, housing market, and extreme hay prices, we are seeing more and more horses either surrendered or abandoned. Many are being turned lose on private land, starved, seized in terribly emaciated condition, and many older horses no longer have a home. We are all feeling the results of this ecomonic pinch, but the needs of these horses are great, and even a small donation of $50 can help us feed a needy horse.
"God forbid that I should go to any heaven in which there are no horses" -R.B. Cunningham Graham |
Small Animals & Barnyard
BFAS also rescues small animals and farm animals including: dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, alpacas and goats!
Visit our animals gallery to see what we currently have at the farm! We have several resident animals that help educate youth groups and volunteers about animal care and training. Please sponsor a resident! "I pray that gentle hands may guide my feet. I ask for kind commands from voices sweet. At night a stable warm with scented hay, where, safe from every harm, I'll sleep till day." -Anonymous "Somewhere...somewhere in time's own space, there must be some sweet pastured place. Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow, some paradise where horses go. For by the love that guides my pen, I know great horses live again." - Stanley Harrison |
Success Stories & Happy Tails
Our job is to find great forever homes for our rescued animals and these success stories are a tribute to that. We love seeing your pictures and hearing your stories. Please keep in touch. We are very thankful for our outstanding and committed volunteers! Without you, the rescue would not be possible. |
Donate NowLove animals? Click the button below to donate now securely via PayPal and help the animals at our rescue! All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. We are all volunteer and need your support!
Examples: It costs $200-400 to feed one horse for one month depending on condition and dietary needs. A vet exam will start around $300 and could reach $1000-10K in an emergency in just a few minutes. Intake for a new dog which includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, worming, leash, collar, microchip, and a toy costs well over $300 for each dog. A load of hay costs over $8-9000!!! Hay is now over $15-17 a bale! |
